JOB SUMMARY

The Content and Social Media Manager is responsible for crafting and distributing compelling written content across multiple platforms to support marketing campaigns. This role oversees the development and execution of social media strategies, advertising initiatives, and audience engagement while managing and empowering social media volunteers. As a core driver of content-based outreach, the Content and Social Media Manager ensures messaging aligns with organizational goals and promotes the mission of Rainbow City Performing Arts.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and executes cross-platform written content strategies, including website updates, email marketing, press releases, and social media posts.
  • Manages and implements paid and organic marketing campaigns, including social media advertising and other digital promotions.
  • Oversees and mentors social media volunteers to ensure consistent brand voice and engagement.
  • Coordinates with the Campaign Manager to align content development with visual design and project timelines.
  • Engages in community-building efforts to foster audience growth and interaction.
  • Leads social media meetings and provides activity reports and engagement insights.
  • Uses effective communication and interpersonal skills that align with and support the organization’s mission and core values.
  • Complies with the organization’s by-laws, policies, procedures, and member covenants; seeks clarification and guidance as necessary

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Guides and supports social media volunteers, ensuring cohesive messaging and campaign execution.
  • Manages workflow for social media content creation, assigning tasks and reviewing work.
  • Provides ongoing feedback and mentorship to direct reports.
  • Supports professional development opportunities for volunteers related to social media and content creation.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

  • Strong writing and storytelling skills with experience creating engaging content for diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of social media strategy, digital marketing, and advertising platforms.
  • Experience in community management and audience engagement.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with visual design and campaign management teams.

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION

  • Previous experience in content creation, social media management, or digital marketing.
