Rainbow City Performing Arts has numerous ensembles though our basic membership details are universal. In order to support our efforts and meet our standards of performance our audiences expect, we ask for members to all work towards common cause from a baseline of expectations.
We members must contribute quarterly dues to pay the cost of some of our operations. RCPA provides professional direction, venues and institutional support to build a community of musicians to fulfill our shared mission. We have an Angel Fund available for members who can't afford to meet the dues requirements.
Code of Conduct
All members, staff, and volunteers must agree to abide by our Code of Conduct to participate in activities with Rainbow City Performing Arts. This code may change from time to time and is available on our Code of Conduct page.
Concert Band, Orchestra, Jazz Band, and Color Guard members should expect to attend at least 80% of rehearsals. It is especially encouraged that members attend sectionals, and special Saturday rehearsals. The tech rehearsal is a required attendance. Exceptions can be made at the discretion of the Ensemble Director, who may require the member demonstrate their mastery of the music by testing out their part individually. When members are to be absent, they should email their section leader and copy the Ensemble Director.
Please get in touch with your Ensemble Director if you have any questions or concerns about attendance. Our goal is to make joining as accessible as possible. We will work to be flexible with your schedule.
Rainbow City Performing Arts has instruments available to loan to members. Certain instruments like drums and marching brass are routinely loaned, but we also have limited smaller winds and concert instruments available. Contact the Director of Operations for availability. To fill out our form and see terms and conditions, please visit our Instrument Loans page.
Our organization and performances only operate with the help of a team of volunteers. We ask every member to donate whatever time and skills they have available to our shared effort. We work together in a friendly environment to fulfill our mission and shared goals. There's a lot of opportunities to learn new skills and accomplish great things as a part of our team. Let us know what ways you can help out! We welcome non-members you know to also volunteer either for concerts or an ongoing staff role with our organization.
