Just In! Check the papers! Rainbow City Performing Arts is presenting Dance the Night Away at Benaroya Hall on Friday, March 22nd, 2024. This night will be like no other gala or evening in Seattle. It has a little bit of everything for everyone to enjoy! There will be a concert performance by Rainbow City Concert Band and Rainbow City Orchestra, a party enriched with games (yes, there will be prizes!), a raffle, a silent auction and dancing with live music by Rainbow City Jazz Band. Additionally, there will be a special performance by Rainbow City Color Guard!
What makes this event different from other Gala events? Please allow me to share five reasons why with you:
- Community is Us: This event is first and foremost about bringing the Rainbow City Community together, sharing in the joy of our accomplishments, the love for our LGBTQIA+ community, and celebrating our organization as a Spectrum of Identity, in which our Concert Band and Orchestra will invite you to experience through the music.
- Affordable Prices: One can attend the concert portion, starting at $15, join in the online silent auction for $10, and have an enjoyable evening for as little as $25. A ticket for the whole night- concert and gala is $140. A night of fine musical entertainment, with drinks, light food and dessert, a fine night you will want to remember, as you Dance the Night Away with the Jazz Band.
- Our History: Rainbow City has held a gala event since 2005 which makes this our 19th Gala. Each year, we aim to show just how unique we truly are as a non-profit. We are unlike any other Pride Band in the nation, with seven ensembles, over 200 membership and growing! Plus, we are undergoing a reorganization to provide more equitability, stability, and support for our staff, members, volunteers as well as stakeholders. We have learned so much over the past 25 years and yet have so much more to give back to our community.
- 4 Ensembles, 1 Night: With Rainbow City Concert Band and Rainbow City Orchestra kicking off the evening, Rainbow City Jazz Band keeping your body moving and grooving and a thrilling performance by Rainbow City Color Guard, spinning Rainbow flags, air blades and sabers and performing their first ever winter guard.
- It's a PARTY!!! There will be a wine toss game as well as cornhole. There will be items to bid on or a raffle to play in and be the lucky winner! And lots of dancing!
