You’ll take the lead in planning and executing social events that align with Rainbow City’s mission. From small gatherings to large celebrations, you’ll work closely with other departments to create experiences that foster connection and fun. You’ll find venues, recruit and manage volunteers, and promote events to ensure maximum participation. You’ll have the backing of the Programs Manager, along with a supportive team of staff and volunteers who share your vision. Together, you’ll have access to resources and guidance to ensure every event you plan is a success.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for proposing, planning, and executing social events that align with Rainbow City Performing Arts’ mission and goals. This role involves coordinating with operations staff and other departments to ensure cohesive event planning, securing venues, recruiting and managing volunteers, and promoting events to maximize participation.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proposes and help execute social events that align with RCPA’s mission and goals.
  • Works closely with operations department staff and other departments to utilize available resources and ensure cohesive event planning.
  • Contacts and coordinates with venues to secure locations for events.
  • Recruits, organizes, and manages volunteers to assist with event setup, execution, and teardown.
  • Posts event announcements and promotional materials to ensure maximum participation and engagement.
  • Attends the monthly departmental meeting and coordinate with other staff as needed.
  • Utilizes effective communication and interpersonal skills that align with and support the organization’s Mission and Core Values.
  • Complies with the organization’s by-laws, policies, procedures, and member covenants; seeks clarification and guidance as necessary.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

  • Basic understanding of event planning principles and community engagement.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
