JOB SUMMARY

The policy coordinator operates the staff process to evolve and increase the organization’s policy portfolio. Working with other staff and other stakeholders, write clear and comprehensive policy proposals as well as archiving and disseminating approved policies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and draft policies as requested and needed by the organization.
  • Disseminate and help ensure adherence to established policies.
  • Engage internal stakeholders about proposed policies before final approval.
  • Assess effectiveness of existing policies and recommend improvements
  • Anticipate potential risks related to policy decisions and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Utilizes effective communication and interpersonal skills that align with and support the organization’s Mission and Core Values.
  • Complies with the organization’s by-laws, policies, procedures, and member covenants; seeks clarification and guidance as necessary.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

  • Ability to analyze existing policies, identify gaps, and propose improvements.
  • Proficiency in gathering relevant data and using it to inform policy decisions.
  • Attention to detail for precise and comprehensive writing.
  • Proven team leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic spreadsheet and word processing applications.

  • Work involves walking, talking, and hearing; using hands to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
