JOB SUMMARY
The Programs Manager fosters collaboration of Artistic Directors (AD), supports the needs of ensemble managers and section leaders, and coordinates staff for the best experience for our members and audiences. This role works with staff of all ensembles to provide consistency and support to their work.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports collaboration and information sharing among ADs
- Assists in the planning and execution of concerts and other events.
- Supports creating systems and processes to support artistic staff.
- Helps to create orientation and training materials for artistic staff.
- Approves requested additional program department expenses with authorized budgetary authority
- Collects quarterly reports from each program and creates a Programs Report for the ED and Board
- Utilizes effective communication and interpersonal skills that align with and support the organization’s Mission and Core Values.
- Complies with the organization’s bylaws, policies, procedures, and Code of Conduct; seeks clarification and guidance as necessary.
SUPPORT PROVIDED
- Experienced and innovative artistic staff to drive program development.
- Staff in other departments to perform needed tasks for directors and managers.
- Model policies and assistance to develop or document new or revised policies and handbooks.
- Training and orientation about each program and ongoing guidance from the ED

- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work involves walking, talking, and hearing; using hands to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reaching with hands and arms.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The individual may be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry objects up to 25 pounds.
